Start Over

ree

I did not like my first trial of train modeling, so I tried to plan out more for the second trial.

I divided the section as :

- Train Head (Box)

- Train Headline (Box)

- Train Body (Box)

- Train Midline (Box)

- Train Bottom (box)

BASE SHAPE OF THE TRAIN

ree

I realised that beveling too soon makes the model more complicated to model.

So firstly I tried to matche the overal shape of the train with editing vertex, and edges.

DETAIL: LIGHTS

Front Lights

- Considering to create in Houdini again, wondering it might cause some complication while I am exporting those to Houdini and try to divide UVs for each.

POSITIONING FOR THE BOOLEAN- DOOR, WINDOW, WHEEL

ree

- There was challenging when I tried to position the front window. The every reference images were positioning differently.

AFTER BEVELING THE EDGES - BOOLEAN WIP

ree

- While beveling the edges of the train, realized that Beveling is not always making the smooth edges, and there is a little rule going on. It is better to start with HORIZONTAL line, rather than the VERTICAL line. It was a small tip I found to step away for messiness.

FINAL LOOK - WINDOW FRAME, SIDEBLOCKS, ROOF STUFF, STAIR

ree

Not perfectly done, but I will give more touch on the front window frame, the doors.

Thinking to develop the train wheels procedurally in Houdini.

I will reference the professor Fowler's website, and start R & D this week.
